Rapper Olamide has declared that he is happy to be an indigenous artist and is not desperate to become well-known worldwide.

He underlined the significance of staying loyal to oneself and determining one's target audience in an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra.

Declaring his Nigerian heritage with pride, Olamide said, "I'm a Yoruba boy, a Naija guy, and I'm proud of it."

He claims that staying true to oneself is the key to success and that doing so will eventually lead to more people listening to his music.

"Identify the members of your target audience. The rest of the world will follow suit once you have identified your target audience. I must therefore always be true to myself, regardless of the circumstances or setting I'm in.

"I am at ease in my own skin. Along with my H-Factor, I take pride in my Yoruba and Naija heritage. "You just have to stay true to yourself," he stated.
